Buy a Server
Instead of connecting a server you already have, you can buy one through Zenavo. Zenavo creates the machine at the cloud provider, sets it up with K3s and the agent, and bills it to your card each month. You never handle its SSH credentials.
Buy one
- Open Servers → New Server and choose Buy a server.
- Pick the Cloud provider, then the Region. Each region shows its lowest price.
- Pick a Machine type from the table: vCPUs, memory, disk, traffic and price per month.
- Check the order at the bottom, change the name if you like (by default the region and size, such as Tokyo 2C 4GB), and click Buy and set up.
Only team owners and admins can buy servers, and a bought server counts toward the plan's server limit like any other (Usage & Billing). Which providers, regions and sizes are on sale depends on Zenavo's catalog; if a size is sold out, pick another size or region.
What happens next
- Payment. The first month is charged to the team's card at once, on its own invoice. If the card is declined, nothing is bought. Add a card under Billing first; no paid plan is needed.
- Provisioning. Zenavo creates the machine with an SSH key made for this server alone, waits for it to boot and answer SSH (up to about 15 minutes), and records its host key. The server shows Provisioning meanwhile.
- Setup. The normal setup runs with that key: K3s, cert-manager and the Zenavo agent. When the agent is connected, setup removes the key from the machine and erases it.
- Login details. The person who bought the server gets one email with the login user, address and a fresh password, so you can SSH in yourself. Zenavo keeps no copy and cannot show it again: store it in a password manager, change it with
passwd, or add your own SSH key and turn password login off.
If the machine cannot be created or does not come up, Zenavo deletes it again and refunds the charge in full.
The server's SSH tab shows how to connect; Zenavo itself never uses this login and manages the server through its agent (Firewall & Security).
Monthly plans and traffic
Some machine types are the provider's own monthly plans (Alibaba Cloud Simple Application Server, Tencent Cloud Lighthouse). The table shows their included traffic per month, or Unlimited when it is not capped. When a capped plan's traffic is used up, the server stops until the next month's traffic is available. See Monthly plans with included traffic.
Renewal and removal
A bought server renews every month on the day it was bought, with automatic renewal on. Turn it off, renew by hand, and see what happens to a server that is not renewed in Servers you buy.
Settings → Remove deletes the machine at the provider, with its firewall rules and everything on it, and stops the charge. The rest of the paid month is not refunded. Delete or move its projects first (Manage a Server).
